HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF AS AN EMPATH, PART I

  1. Love yourself! Self-love is the beginning of all love. As an empath, you feel the spectrum of emotions at an extreme level, so it is important that you hold yourself in the highest respect and love, which will enable you to differentiate between your emotions and others. When we practice self-love, we create a safe-space that will not allow ourselves to do or experience something that we are not comfortable with.  Always ask yourself the wise question, “What would someone who loves themselves do?” and act from the heart. Do not be afraid of hurting feelings or causing embarrassment – a prolonged untruth of staying in a situation, staying with a person or a group that doesn’t serve you, will result in greater feelings of hurt. Honor yourself, and others, by loving yourself first. Then you can love others in the healthiest way, a way best for everyone.
